Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

The Council of Thinkers is operated by Council of Thinkers Ltd ("we", "us", "our") under the auspices of the AI Conformity Institute (AICI). We operate the websites councilofthinkers.com and leagueofthinkers.com.

2. What data we collect

Account data — Name, email address, and password (stored as a salted hash). If you sign in with Google, LinkedIn, or X, we receive your name, email, and profile image from that provider.
Research data — Topics you submit to the Council, Council sessions you initiate, and any analysis you commission.
Technical data — Standard server logs including IP address and user-agent, retained for up to 30 days. We use Cloudflare for infrastructure.

3. How we use your data

  • ·To provide and operate the Council platform (authentication, session history)
  • ·To process payments and manage subscriptions via Stripe
  • ·To send transactional emails (account confirmation, password reset) via Resend
  • ·To generate AI analysis reports from topics you submit via OpenRouter
  • ·To improve the platform by analysing usage patterns in aggregate

We do not sell your personal data. We do not use your data to train AI models.

4. AI-generated content

Topics you submit to the Council are sent to AI model providers via OpenRouter. These providers include Google, Anthropic, OpenAI, xAI, Meta, DeepSeek, and Alibaba. Your topic text may be processed by their APIs subject to their respective data handling policies. We do not send personal account information to AI providers.

All outputs produced are owned by the AI Conformity Institute and published under the terms described in our Terms of Use.

5. Data sharing

  • ·Cloudflare — infrastructure, CDN, and database (D1/KV/R2)
  • ·Stripe — payment processing and subscription management
  • ·OpenRouter — AI model API routing
  • ·Resend — transactional email delivery
  • ·OAuth providers (Google, LinkedIn, X) — only when you choose to sign in with them

6. Data retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your personal data is deleted within 30 days. Published deliberation outputs may be retained and anonymised as part of the permanent research record.

7. Your rights

Under UK GDPR you have the right to access, correct, delete, or port your personal data, and to object to or restrict processing. To exercise these rights, email privacy@councilofthinkers.com.

8. Cookies

We use a single session cookie to keep you signed in. We do not use tracking cookies or third-party analytics. Cloudflare may set its own cookies for security and performance purposes.
